Make a mouthwatering stuffed roast lamb effortlessly for your family gathering. Have the butcher butterfly the leg of lamb for easy preparation.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups small dried bread cubes or plain croutons
  • 0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped mint leaves
  • 0.5 cup Heinz® Chili Sauce
  • 1 (3 pound) boneless, butterflied leg of lamb, trimmed
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 0.75 teaspoon pepper
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C), then mix together the bread cubes, cheese, mint, and chili sauce until fully blended.
  • Place the meat with the fat side down and generously season with salt and pepper. Evenly spread the bread mixture, ensuring to leave a 1-inch border at one end. Roll up the meat starting from the narrow end, similar to rolling a jellyroll.
  • Secure the rolled roast with kitchen string. Place it on a rack in a roasting pan and roast for 1 1/2 hours, basting occasionally, until a meat thermometer inserted in the center reads 140 degrees F (60 degrees C) for rare or 160 degrees F (70 degrees C) for medium doneness. Let the roast rest for 10 minutes before slicing thickly. Yield: 8 servings.
