Creamy cheese sauce with onion and garlic, made with butter, milk, cornstarch, and American cheese slices.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 4 cups milk
  • 0.5 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 0.5 teaspoon minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 16 slices American cheese
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, gently bring together butter, milk, minced garlic, and minced onion until just simmering, stirring often. Mix cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water, then whisk into the pan. Stir vigorously until it thickens to your liking.
  • Once the milk mixture has thickened to your liking, tear the cheese slices into pieces and gently incorporate them into the sauce, allowing them to melt gradually until reaching the desired level of cheesiness. Serve over your preferred pasta, vegetable, or side dish.
