Indulge in decadent chocolate cupcakes made with Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ white cake mix and layered with luscious Betty Crocker® Whipped frosting. A treat to savor!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg whites called for on cake mix box
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Chocolate Frosting
  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Strawberry Mist™ Frosting
  • Assorted Betty Crocker™ Decorating Decors candy sprinkles
  • Additional miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans) and line 24 regular-size muffin cups with white paper baking cups.
  • Prepare the cake mix as instructed on the box for cupcakes, using water, oil, and egg whites. Add almond extract and vanilla for flavor. Transfer half of the batter to a small bowl and mix in cocoa and 1/2 cup of chocolate chips. Divide the chocolate batter evenly among the muffin cups and then carefully spoon the white batter over the chocolate batter.
  • Follow the baking instructions on the box, then cool the cupcakes for 10 minutes. Transfer them from the pans to cooling racks and let them cool completely for about 30 minutes before serving.
  • Spread a layer of chocolate, white, and strawberry frosting on cupcakes. Top with candy sprinkles and extra chocolate chips for a delightful finish.
