Delicious Neapolitan whoopie pies with a strawberry cake mix, whipped topping, and crushed Oreo® cookies. Chill for an hour or make ahead for a delightful treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package strawberry cake mix
  • 0.33333334326744 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.5 (8 ounce) container whipped topping (such as Cool Whip®)
  • 0.5 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreo®)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, vegetable oil, and eggs.
  • Shape the dough into 18 one-inch balls and arrange them on a baking sheet. Flatten each ball using your palm.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until edges turn golden brown, for around 6 to 8 minutes. Allow to cool on the baking sheet briefly, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely, approximately 15 minutes.
  • Spread a generous layer of whipped topping on one side of each cookie, working in pairs. Sprinkle half of the cookies with crushed Oreos®, then sandwich them with the remaining cookies. Wrap each whoopie pie individually with plastic wrap and store them in a 1-gallon freezer bag.
  • Chill in the freezer for a minimum of 1 hour before enjoying.
