Flavorful Neapolitan pizza dough infused with garlic and Italian seasonings, pre-bake briefly before adding toppings.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour (such as King Arthur®), or as needed
  • 1.25 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon fast-rising dry yeast
  • 1.5 cups ice water, or as needed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon olive oil
Instructions:
  • Combine flour, salt, and yeast in a large bowl. Gradually add ice water, scraping the bowl as you go, until a soft dough forms. Incorporate 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead until firm yet slightly sticky; add more flour if necessary. Knead in granulated garlic and Italian seasoning. (You can also knead the dough in a bread machine set on the Dough setting.)
  • Shape dough into a round and transfer it to an oiled bowl. Drizzle 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil over the top, cover with plastic wrap, and let dough rise until doubled in size for 1 to 2 hours. Afterward, deflate the dough, divide it in half, shape each piece into a 12-inch pizza crust, and place them on pizza pans.
  • Position an oven rack on the lowest level and preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  • Place pizza crusts in the oven on the bottom rack for 3 to 7 minutes until just firm. Let the crusts cool for around 10 minutes before adding sauce, cheese, or your favorite toppings and baking again.
