Indulgent New York cheesecake with velvety sour cream topping on a buttery graham crust - pure decadence.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 0.33333334326744 cup butter, melted
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 3 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 4 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect cooking environment.
  • Prepare the crust by combining graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar in a medium bowl until the mixture is evenly moistened. Press the mixture into the bottom and 1/2 inch up the sides of a 9-inch springform pan, then set it aside.
  • Combine cream cheese and sugar in a large bowl, and use an electric mixer to achieve a smooth mixture. Add eggs, vanilla, and cream of tartar, and pour over crust in the pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 50 minutes until the center is set. Let it cool on the counter for 5 minutes.
  • Prepare the topping by combining sour cream, sugar, and vanilla in a medium bowl until the mixture is smooth.
  • Drizzle topping over cheesecake, beginning at the edges of the pan and moving towards the middle.
  • Place cheesecake back in the oven until the topping is firm, around 5 minutes. Let it cool in the pan to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 6 hours before serving.
