Non-nuclear fire noodles
0 Likes
Enjoy the cult favorite Buldak Nuclear Fire Noodles by Korean brand Samyang. The spicy noodles, loved by TikTokers and YouTubers, boast a deliciously addictive flavor. Enhance it by adding a raw egg yolk for a creamy texture, or fry the egg for a different twist. For a vegan version, swap chicken for mushrooms and use mushroom bouillon powder.
Ingredients:
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (or your favourite fruity hot sauce)
  • ½ tablespoon chicken bouillon powder
  • 1 clove of garlic grated
  • ½ tablespoon light soy sauce
  • ½ tablespoon golden caster (superfine) sugar
  • ½ tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 nests ramen noodles (fresh or dried)
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil
  • 2 boneless chicken thighs finely sliced
  • 2 spring onions (scallions) finely sliced
  • 2 egg yolks (optional)
  • ½ a toasted nori sheet torn into small pieces
  • 1 tablespoon crispy fried garlic
Instructions:
  • Combine gochujang, sriracha, chicken bouillon powder, grated garlic, light soy, sugar, and sesame oil in a jug. Boil water in a pot and cook noodles per package instructions. Add 4 tablespoons of noodle water to the jug, then drain and rinse noodles to prevent sticking. In a hot non-stick skillet, sear chicken until browned. Pour the sauce over the chicken and simmer for 2–3 minutes. Add noodles and spring onions, toss to combine. Divide between two bowls and add an egg yolk to each if desired. Top with torn nori and crispy garlic before serving.
