Decadent chocolate Nutella roll cake - a fluffy sponge filled, chilled and sliced into tempting rolls.
Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 1.25 cups chocolate-hazelnut spread (such as Nutella®)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a jellyroll pan with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, use an electric mixer to whip eggs until light and fluffy, around 5 minutes. Gradually add 1/2 cup sugar, beating for another 5 minutes. Gently mix in oil and vanilla extract.
  • Combine the flour and baking powder, then gradually sift into the egg mixture, gently folding in with a spatula. Spread the batter evenly onto the baking sheet.
  • Bake until the cake is golden brown, about 10-12 minutes in the preheated oven.
  • 1. Place a clean dish towel on a flat work surface and sprinkle it with 2 teaspoons of sugar. 2. Flip the sponge cake onto the towel and remove the parchment paper. 3. Roll up the cake with the towel and let it cool completely, around 1 hour.
  • Unroll sponge cake gently. Spread chocolate-hazelnut spread on top, leaving a small border. Roll up carefully and wrap tightly in plastic. Chill in the fridge for 2 hours. Slice and serve.
