Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose or unbleached flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz)
  • 1 cup chopped nuts, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Combine brown sugar and butter in a large bowl until well blended. Add vanilla and egg, then mix until light and fluffy. Mix in oats, flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined, then fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
  • Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto a greased cookie sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake until golden brown, approximately 10 to 12 minutes. Allow them to cool briefly before transferring to a wire rack.
