Indulge in classic egg custard - perfect alone or as a luscious tart filling.
Ingredients:
  • 8 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1 gallon whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • In a large pot, vigorously whisk together eggs and sugar until smooth. Slowly pour in milk while whisking continuously. Gently fold in vanilla.
  • Gently heat milk mixture on low, stirring continuously. Cook until thickened and coats the back of a wooden spoon, approximately 30 minutes. Transfer to a serving dish and let it cool.
