Strawberry pretzel salad with creamy center.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup butter, softened
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2.5 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1 (6 ounce) package strawberry flavored Jell-O®
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 3 cups strawberries, chilled
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Combine butter or margarine with brown sugar until creamy. Stir in pretzels and press mixture into a 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes. Allow to cool before proceeding.
  • Combine gelatin and boiling water in a medium bowl, then gently fold in the strawberries. Refrigerate until slightly thickened.
  • Combine cream cheese and white sugar in a small bowl, beating until smooth. Gently fold in the whipped cream. Spread the mixture over the cooled crust, ensuring the edges are sealed. Chill the layer, then pour the gelatin mixture over it. Chill until firm.
