Transform white cake mix and frosting into spooky cake pops, ideal for Halloween festivities.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg whites called for on cake mix box
  • 1 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 6 cups purple candy melts
  • 3 tablespoons shortening
  • 54 paper lollipop sticks
  • Block of plastic foam
  • 54 candy eyes
Instructions:
  • Prepare the cake mix following the instructions on the box for a 13x9-inch pan, using water, oil, and egg whites. Allow the cake to cool. Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Crumble the cake into a large bowl, then add frosting and mix thoroughly. Shape the mixture into 1 1/4-inch balls and place them on the cookie sheet. Freeze until firm, then store in the refrigerator.
  • Place candy melts and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl, microwave on Medium (50%) for 1 minute, then in 15-second intervals until melted. Stir until smooth. Dip 1 lollipop stick tip 1/2 inch into melted candy and insert into 1 cake ball halfway. Repeat for all cake balls. Chill for 5 minutes, then dip cake balls in melted candy, tapping off excess. Place sticks in foam block and allow to set.
  • Pour the remaining melted candy over the cake pops, then add one candy eye to each pop.
