Creamy caramelized onions: versatile side dish for any meal. Chill onions before slicing to prevent tears.
Ingredients:
  • 5 large sweet onions, cut into 1/4 inch slices and separated into rings
  • 0.25 cup margarine
  • 0.25 cup sour cream
  • 0.75 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 10 buttery crackers
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the margarine until sizzling. Sauté onions until tender. Remove from heat and fold in sour cream and Parmesan cheese. Spoon mixture into the baking dish and sprinkle crushed crackers on top.
  • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes until the top is golden brown and the sauce is bubbling.
