Turn your mini tart dreams into reality with these delectable treats.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated orange peel
  • 2 teaspoons orange juice
  • 1/4 cup flaked coconut
  • Citrus peel cutouts, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine 1/2 cup butter, 1/3 cup sugar, milk, vanilla, and salt in a medium bowl, using a spoon. Then, mix in 1 1/3 cups flour.
  • Take the dough and divide it into 24 equal pieces. Press each piece into the bottom and up the sides of small muffin cups that are 1 3/4 x 1 inch, ungreased or lined with paper baking cups.
  • Combine cream cheese, 1/4 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons flour, egg yolk, orange peel, and orange juice in a medium bowl. Fill each cup with slightly less than 1 tablespoon of the mixture, then top with coconut.
  • Bake until pastry is golden brown and filling is set, about 15 to 20 minutes. Allow to cool slightly, then gently loosen from cups with a knife. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely for about 1 hour. Just before serving, top with citrus peel and store covered in the refrigerator.
