Delicious apple-filled bread casserole, ideal for big brunch gatherings.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 (21 ounce) cans apple pie filling
  • 20 slices white bread
  • 6 eggs
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan by greasing it thoroughly. Combine melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl, stirring until well mixed.
  • Evenly layer the sugar mixture at the bottom of the pan. Spread the apple pie filling on top. Arrange the bread slices over the filling, pressing gently. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla. Pour the mixture over the bread, ensuring it is well soaked. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) in the morning for best results.
  • Bake the covered pan in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 60-75 minutes. Once done, switch on the broiler, remove the foil, and drizzle maple syrup on top of the egg topping. Broil for 2 minutes until the syrup caramelizes. Let it stand for 10 minutes, then cut into squares. Flip the pan onto a serving tray, keeping the apple filling on top. Serve hot.
