Panna Cotta with Strawberry Jam

A luscious vanilla panna cotta with a strawberry jam swirl, perfect for easy make-ahead Italian dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
  • 1 tablespoon cool water
  • 1.5 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 0.5 cup whole milk
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
  • 0.5 vanilla bean, split lengthwise
  • 6 tablespoons strawberry jam
Instructions:
  • Sprinkle gelatin over water and allow it to dissolve for about 1 minute.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine heavy cream, milk, sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla bean. Stir constantly until mixture is simmering. Let it gently simmer for about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and discard vanilla bean.
  • Combine the gelatin mixture with the hot cream mixture, stirring until fully dissolved. Gently fold in the strawberry jam. Divide the mixture into small dessert cups, cover with plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator until firm, for at least 8 hours or overnight.
