Parmesan-Herb Breadsticks

Fluffy Parmesan herb breadsticks that enhance any Italian meal.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 cup warm water (110 degrees F (45 degrees C))
  • 2.5 cups bread flour
  • 0.25 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, divided
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) and line baking pans with parchment paper for easy clean-up.
  • Combine yeast, honey, and warm water in the bowl of a stand mixer. Allow it to sit and get creamy for about 10 minutes.
  • Combine flour, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, and salt with the yeast mixture. Mix until smooth and the dough pulls away from the bowl edges. Allow to rest for approximately 5 minutes.
  • Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and shape into a log using 3 tablespoons of dough. Place on the baking sheet and repeat with the rest of the dough.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until perfectly golden brown, about 13 to 15 minutes.
  • Combine butter, garlic salt, and the rest of the Italian seasoning while the breadsticks are in the oven.
  • Once brushed with the flavorful butter mixture, allow the breadsticks to bake until they reach a beautiful golden brown color, approximately 3 more minutes.
