Pawsitively delightful holiday dog treats with carob and peanut butter paw prints for your furry friend to enjoy.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup brown rice flour
  • 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 cup carob chips
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 300°F. Mix Dog Treat ingredients in a large bowl until a soft dough comes together.
  • Divide the dough in half. Roll each half to a 1/4 to 1/8 inch thickness using a brown rice-floured rolling pin on a brown rice-floured surface. Cut out shapes using a 1 1/2-inch round cutter. Place the cutouts about 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet and use your fingers to create paw print indents in the cookies.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown and dry. Let cool for 1 minute, then transfer from the baking sheet to a cooling rack. Allow to cool completely for about 30 minutes before enjoying.
  • In a small microwavable bowl, heat carob chips and peanut butter on High for 30 to 45 seconds until smooth. Transfer mixture into a resealable plastic bag. Cut a 1/8-inch hole in the corner of the bag using kitchen scissors. Pipe the carob mixture into the paw indents of the cookies. Let the cookies sit at room temperature for about 1 hour until the carob mixture sets.
  • Transfer the treats to a stylish container and keep at room temperature for up to 3 weeks.
