Delicious peach cobbler with spiced fruit baked on a fluffy biscuit crust for a comforting dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 fresh peaches - peeled, pitted, and sliced
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 0.5 cup shortening
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups boiling water
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 10x10-inch baking dish.
  • Combine juicy peaches, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, and a hint of cinnamon in a bowl, ensuring a perfect fusion of flavors; set aside for the next step.
  • In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the creamed mixture, mixing until just combined. Spread the biscuit batter into the prepared dish and layer with peaches. Drizzle melted butter over the peaches.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until beautifully golden brown, about 40-45 minutes.
