Peanut Butter-Chocolate Cookies

Indulge in holiday peanut butter cookies topped with gooey chocolate candy for a delicious treat any day.
Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Granulated sugar
  • 3 dozen milk chocolate stars or candy-coated chocolate-covered peanuts
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine 1/2 cup granulated sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, butter, shortening, and egg. Mix in flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  • Roll dough into adorable 1-inch balls, then coat them in a sweet layer of granulated sugar. Arrange on an ungreased cookie sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until edges turn a light golden brown. Quickly press 1 chocolate star into each cookie and allow them to cool on a wire rack.
