Make a simple and delicious fruit tart with orange glaze, creamy cream cheese, fresh fruit, and decadent pecans using just a pizza pan.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 packages (3 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 4 cups sliced pears (4 to 5 medium)
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease and flour a 12-inch pizza pan. Combine flour and brown sugar in a medium bowl. Use a fork or pastry blender to cut in the butter until crumbly. Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the pan. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until lightly browned; then allow it to cool.
  • Combine granulated sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan. Slowly whisk in orange juice and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat while stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 1 minute, then allow to cool.
  • - In a medium bowl, whip cream cheese until velvety; layer onto the chilled crust. Fan out pear slices on top of the cream cheese. Sprinkle with pecans. Drizzle orange glaze over the entire concoction. Chill until firm, approximately 2 hours. Keep refrigerated for freshness.
