Pecan Pie Cake I

Indulgent and decadent cake with a moist texture. Use any cake mix flavor, but we recommend butter pecan for extra richness.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 1 (18.25 ounce) package butter pecan cake mix
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 cups chopped pecans
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
Instructions:
  • - Preheat your oven to a toasty 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Set aside 3/4 cup of the cake mix for the second layer.
  • Combine 1/2 cup margarine or butter, brown sugar, cake mix (minus 3/4 cup), water, pecans, and 2 eggs in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly.
  • Pour the batter into the pan and bake at 325°F (165°C) for 20 minutes.
  • Prepare the second layer by thoroughly mixing 1/2 cup of butter or margarine, 2 eggs, milk, sugar, corn syrup, and the reserved 3/4 cup of cake mix in a large bowl. Pour the mixture evenly over the first layer.
  • Bake at 325°F (165°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
