Delicious and elegant pecan tassies - perfect for gifting or holiday gatherings. Easy to make in bulk for parties or swaps.
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups margarine
  • 4 (3 ounce) packages cream cheese
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.5 cups packed brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1.5 cups chopped pecans
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease mini tart pans or mini muffin pans.
  • Use an electric mixer to blend butter and cream cheese until smooth in a large bowl. Gradually mix in flour, one cup at a time, until a smooth dough forms. Shape into small balls and press into the bottoms and sides of the prepared pans.
  • In a medium bowl, blend together brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Add pecans and evenly distribute the mixture into each crust, filling them 2/3 full.
  • Bake in the oven until the crust is golden brown and the filling has puffed up, around 15 to 18 minutes. Allow the pans to cool briefly before delicately moving the tarts to a wire rack to cool completely.
