Pecan and panko crusted pork chops - a crunchy, elegant main course with minimal effort.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 0.5 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 pounds thick-cut pork chops
  • 0.5 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
Instructions:
  • Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.
  • Crush pecans in a food processor until coarsely chopped, then transfer to a shallow dish. Add panko and cornstarch, and mix well.
  • Season the pork chops generously with Italian seasoning, garlic salt, and pepper. Smear both sides with a luscious mixture of Dijon mustard and honey. Press each chop into the crunchy pecan mixture, ensuring a thorough coating. Gently shake off any extra coating and place the chops on the baking sheet.
  • Heat a large sauté pan over medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Add butter and oil. Sear pork until browned, about 4 to 5 minutes per side. It should reach 145°F (63°C) in the center. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
