Elevate sloppy joes with steakhouse flavors. Easy yet gourmet twist on a classic. Perfect for impressing guests at any gathering.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Progresso™ chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
  • 2 tablespoons steak sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 oz mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup white onion, coarsely chopped (from 1 small onion)
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal steak seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 8 regular-size burger buns, toasted if desired
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (2 oz)
Instructions:
  • Combine broth, steak sauce, and mustard in a medium bowl; set aside.
  • In a large skillet, brown the beef over medium-high heat for 7 to 8 minutes, stirring frequently. Drain and set aside. Add butter to the skillet with any drippings, then cook mushrooms, onion, and steak seasoning for 7 to 8 minutes until onions are translucent and mushrooms are browned.
  • Gently dust vegetables with flour and cook until it turns golden and fragrant. Add beef back to the pan, pour in broth mixture, and simmer until sauce thickens. Spoon about 1/3 cup of the mixture onto the bottom of each bun, sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of cheese, and crown with the top bun.
