Indulgent pecan, praline, and bacon combination that will keep you craving more.
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ flour
  • 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 package (2.1 oz) precooked bacon, cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups packed dark brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Combine flour and 1/2 cup brown sugar in a medium bowl. Use an electric mixer to blend in 1 cup of butter until smooth. Mix in bacon. Press the mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 13x9-inch pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the center is set. Allow to cool completely for about 30 minutes before serving.
  • In a 1-quart saucepan, bring whipping cream, 1/3 cup butter, and 1 1/2 cups brown sugar to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Boil and stir for 1 minute, then remove from heat. Whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
  • Smooth praline frosting onto the cooled crust and generously sprinkle with pecans. Allow to rest for 30 to 45 minutes until the frosting sets to a perfect consistency. Slice into 8 rows by 4 rows and store covered in the refrigerator for freshness.
