Easy baked French toast with pecan praline adds sweet nutty crunch to custard-soaked bread slices.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons maple-flavored syrup
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 10 slices (1 inch thick) French bread
Instructions:
  • Prepare a 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish by spraying it with cooking spray. Combine brown sugar, melted butter, and syrup in a small bowl, then pour the mixture into the baking dish. Sprinkle the top with pecans before baking.
  • Combine eggs, milk, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla in a medium bowl using a whisk. Place bread slices over pecans and pour egg mixture over the bread. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Remove cover from baking dish and bake for 35-37 minutes, or until golden brown.
