Indulge in overnight praline pecan French toast casserole for a luxurious brunch experience. Prep ahead for easy baking the next day.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups half-and-half
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
  • 8 slices French bread
  • 0.25 cup butter, or more as needed
  • 0.75 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup
  • 0.75 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons confectioners sugar, or more to taste
Instructions:
  • In a large shallow bowl, combine half-and-half, eggs, vanilla, and 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar. Add French bread to the mixture. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 8 hours to overnight.
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a 9x13-inch casserole dish, add butter and place it in the preheated oven to melt for about 5 minutes. Swirl the melted butter over the bottom of the dish.
  • Sprinkle brown sugar, maple syrup, and pecans over the melted butter, then place the soaked bread on top.
  • Bake the French toast in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes until cooked through. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar before serving.
