Make classic peppermint bark for a festive holiday gift.
Ingredients:
  • 30 crushed peppermint hard candies, divided
  • 1.5 pounds milk chocolate candy, coarsely chopped
  • 1.5 pounds white chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon oil-based peppermint flavoring, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Prepare all your delicious ingredients.
  • Evenly sprinkle a generous layer of 1/3 of the peppermint candy over a 9x13-inch baking pan that has been lined with wax paper.
  • Slowly melt the milk chocolate in a double boiler over gentle heat, stirring often and scraping the sides with a spatula to prevent burning, until fully melted.
  • Drizzle the melted chocolate over the peppermint candy in the pan. Sprinkle another layer of 1/3 of the candy on top. Chill until chocolate sets, for about 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Gently melt the white chocolate in a double boiler, stirring occasionally and making sure to scrape down the sides with a rubber spatula to prevent burning. Mix in the oil-based peppermint flavoring.
  • Drizzle the creamy white chocolate over the rich milk chocolate, then sprinkle the rest of the peppermint candy on top. Chill until the white chocolate sets, approximately 30 minutes.
  • Arrange into bite-sized portions for serving.
