Peppermint Bark Brownies

Indulge in festive peppermint brownies topped with creamy vanilla frosting and candy cane crumbles. Easy to make and perfect for holiday gatherings. Treat yourself this season with a batch of these chocolatey delights!
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Fudge Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract, optional
  • 3/4 cup from 1 tub (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • 1/3 cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (or 325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Line a 9-inch square pan with parchment paper and coat with cooking spray. Prepare brownie batter following box instructions, optionally enhance with peppermint extract, and pour into pan.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side of the pan almost comes out clean. Let it cool completely, which should take about 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • Evenly coat the brownies with luscious vanilla frosting in the pan. Sprinkle generously with crushed candy canes or peppermint candies for a festive and delightful decoration.
  • Transfer brownies from pan onto a cutting board to slice into 12 even portions. For best results, store any leftovers in the refrigerator to maintain the frosting's texture and prevent it from becoming too soft.
