Generational persimmon pudding pie recipe.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cups persimmon pulp
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1.25 cups buttermilk
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C), while gracefully coating the bottom of a baking dish with melted butter.
  • Combine persimmon pulp and sugar in a bowl, then mix in eggs. Add buttermilk and baking soda, and mix until well combined.
  • In a bowl, combine sifted flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Gently add this mixture to the persimmon mixture, stirring until fully combined. Mix in vanilla extract. Transfer the persimmon batter into the prepared baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 1 hour until golden brown and fully cooked.
