Spicy ghost pepper phaal curry - the ultimate fiery dish for spice lovers! Enjoy with rice for a flaming culinary experience.
Ingredients:
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 10 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped
  • 3 ghost chile peppers, stemmed and coarsely chopped (use gloves)
  • 2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger root
  • 1 tablespoon tomato puree
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon ground fenugreek
  • 2 pounds cubed lamb
  • 0.25 cup clarified butter (ghee)
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro, or to taste
Instructions:
  • In a blender, add tomatoes, water, garlic, ghost peppers, ginger, tomato purée, salt, chili powder, garam masala, cumin, coriander, fenugreek, and pepper. Pulse to chop ingredients, then blend until smooth.
  • Pour the blended mixture into a spacious bowl. Add the lamb and mix well until coated. Cover and let it marinate in the fridge for 1 hour.
  • In a large pot over medium-high heat, melt ghee. Cook onions until golden brown, stirring constantly, for 10 to 15 minutes. Add lamb and marinade, bring to a boil, and simmer until sauce thickens for about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low and cook until lamb is tender, approximately 20 minutes.
  • Serve the soup in bowls and sprinkle with fresh cilantro for a burst of flavor.
