Party-perfect Philly cheese steak dip: Cheesy, colorful, and savory dip featuring juicy steak, peppers, and gooey cheese.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound beef top sirloin steaks
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 0.5 cup pepperoncini peppers
  • 7 pickled red peppers (such as Peppadew®)
  • 3 jalapeno peppers
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 0.5 pound provolone cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
Instructions:
  • Cut the steak into thick slices and generously season both sides with salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a smoking hot pan. Sear steak slices until bottoms are browned for 3 to 4 minutes. Flip over, reduce heat to medium, and cook until juices appear on the tops for 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer to a bowl to cool.
  • Combine diced onion, a generous pinch of salt, and butter with the flavorful meat juices in the pan. Sauté over medium heat, stirring frequently and deglazing any browned bits, until the onions begin to soften, approximately 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Chop the red bell pepper, green bell pepper, pepperoncini, pickled red peppers, and jalapenos until you have 1 1/2 to 2 cups. Add them to the onions and cook, stirring, until they begin to soften, about 5 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 400°F (200°C).
  • Dice steak and return to bowl with juices. Combine with onion-pepper mix and cream cheese. Grate in provolone cheese, reserving a bit for topping. Add Worcestershire sauce and sprinkle in cayenne pepper. Stir dip until well blended.
  • Pour half of the dip into a small baking dish and level it with a fork. Set the dish on a baking sheet, sprinkle the leftover provolone cheese on top, and save the rest for baking later when your guests arrive.
  • Place dip in the preheated oven and let it bubble and heat through for 20 to 25 minutes. Then, broil for an extra 1 minute until the top is nicely browned. Repeat the process with the second batch of dip.
