Transform a pineapple into a festive Halloween jack-o'-lantern for a fun and easy treat! Use a pineapple corer for effortless slicing.
Ingredients:
  • 1 large pineapple
  • 1 tea light candle
Instructions:
  • Place the pineapple horizontally on a cutting board. Use a serrated knife to trim off the top 1 1/2 inches, keeping the leafy crown intact. Set the top aside.
  • Position the pineapple upright with the exposed flesh facing up. Align the pineapple corer-slicer over the core in the center and push down gently. Secure the pineapple with one hand and twist the corer-slicer handle clockwise with the other hand, applying some pressure. Twist until you reach the bottom, being careful not to cut through the skin.
  • Remove the corer-slicer from the pineapple by lifting the handle up and pulling down with your left hand. Transfer the sliced pineapple to a serving plate, and save any collected juice for later by pouring it into a glass or container.
  • Use a paper towel to securely grab the core inside the pineapple, twist gently to remove it, and discard.
  • Scrape the bottom of the pineapple with a large spoon to create a flat surface for the candle.
  • With a small flexible paring knife, carefully carve out eyes, nose, and a spooky grin on the pineapple. Place the top back on and refrigerate until ready to showcase. When ready, place a tea light candle inside to illuminate.
