Elevated French toast with tropical pineapple and decadent hot fudge sauce - a dessert delight!
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup chopped fresh pineapple, drained
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
  • 4 slices good bread
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons hot fudge sauce, or to taste
Instructions:
  • In a bowl, combine pineapple and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Then, spread each slice of bread with 1 1/2 teaspoons of cream cheese. Top 2 slices with 1/4 cup of pineapple mixture each, saving the rest. Finally, assemble sandwiches by placing remaining slices of bread on top and pressing lightly. Enjoy!
  • Combine the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon with milk, egg, sugar, and vanilla extract in a shallow bowl. Soak each sandwich in the milk mixture briefly to allow the bread to absorb the flavors; flip and repeat.
  • Preheat a nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt butter, and fry sandwiches until golden brown on both sides, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Top each sandwich with half of the remaining pineapple mixture and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of hot fudge sauce.
