Create a stuffed pizza with delicious toppings inside!
Ingredients:
  • 225g (1 1/2 cups) plain flour
  • 2.25 gm sugar
  • 0.60 gm salt
  • 2 tsp (7g/1 sachet) dried yeast
  • 13.80 gm olive oil
  • 185ml (3/4 cup) warm water
  • 44.40 gm salt-reduced tomato paste
  • 225g can pineapple pieces in natural juice, drained
  • 1/2 green capsicum, seeded, finely chopped
  • 1/2 red capsicum, seeded, finely chopped
  • 100g light shaved ham, coarsely chopped
  • 2 shallots, ends trimmed, finely chopped
  • 85g reduced-fat grated cheddar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 200°C and line a large baking tray with non-stick baking paper. In a large bowl, sift the flour, then stir in the sugar and salt. Create a well in the center and add yeast, oil, and water. Use a round-bladed knife to mix until the dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough onto a clean surface dusted with flour. Knead for 2-3 minutes until it becomes smooth.
  • Divide the dough into 4 portions, then roll out each portion on a lightly floured surface into a 20cm disc. Spread the tomato paste on each disc and top with pineapple, combined capsicum, ham, shallot, and cheddar.
  • Fold each pastry disc in half to envelop the filling, pressing the edges to seal. Place the turnovers on the prepared baking tray and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until they are puffed, golden, and sound hollow when tapped underneath.
