Make colorful Portuguese snow drop meringue cookies with egg whites, sugar, and lemon juice. Customize with food coloring and sprinkles.
Ingredients:
  • 3 egg whites
  • 0.5 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C) to ensure the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Whisk egg whites in a glass or metal bowl until foamy. Slowly add sugar and lemon juice while continuing to whisk until stiff peaks form. Peaks should be sharp when lifting the whisk straight up.
  • Spoon egg mixture onto a baking sheet in heaping teaspoonfuls to create small peaked mounds.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the outside, while remaining tender and fully cooked on the inside.
