Potato and pea mash

Ingredients:
  • 1kg desiree potatoes, peeled, halved
  • 150g pea
  • 125ml buttermilk
  • 30g butter, chopped
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan, simmer potatoes in cold water over high heat until tender, about 15 minutes. Add peas and cook for an additional 2 minutes until peas are tender. Drain thoroughly before serving.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, warm buttermilk and butter. Add potato and pea mixture, then mash with a potato masher until creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir with a wooden spoon until well blended. Serve hot.
