Make adorable crown cupcake toppers with gumdrops rolled in sugar and cut into crown shapes.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
  • Water, oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 2 tubs (16 oz) Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy Vanilla Frosting
  • Pink liquid food color
  • 24 large sugar-coated yellow gumdrops
  • Coarse pink decorator sugar or edible candy pearls, if desired
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (350°F for dark or nonstick pans) and line 24 regular-size muffin cups with paper baking cups. Prepare cake mix as instructed on the box for 24 cupcakes. Bake as directed and allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to cooling racks. Let cupcakes cool completely for about 30 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, add frosting and mix in pink food color until you achieve your desired shade of pink. Transfer the pink frosting to a decorating bag fitted with a large open star tip, and pipe frosting onto the tops of the cupcakes.
  • Flatten gumdrops with a rolling pin, then use kitchen scissors or a knife to cut out the crowns. Decorate the cupcakes with the gumdrop crowns on top.
