Decadent regional dessert with a caramelized brown sugar and egg base, reminiscent of pumpkin pie. Top with a dollop of velvety cream for a luscious finishing touch.
Ingredients:
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1 cup light whipping cream
  • 2 cups heavy cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) for perfect cooking temperature.
  • In a bowl, vigorously whisk the eggs and egg yolk until frothy. Add milk and vanilla, and beat until smooth. Gradually fold in flour, salt, and brown sugar. Then pour the mixture into the pie crust.
  • Combine the light whipping cream and heavy cream in a bowl, then chill in the refrigerator.
  • Place the pie in a preheated oven for 10 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and continue baking until the center is set, for 35 to 45 minutes. Let it cool on a rack and serve on a plate with a dollop of chilled cream mixture at room temperature.
