Ingredients:
  • 150g plain flour
  • 160g plain flour
  • 1.20 gm salt
  • 1.25 gm bicarbonate soda
  • 2.25 gm sugar
  • 250ml buttermilk
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 220°C and cover a baking tray with a sheet of baking paper.
  • Combine sifted flours, salt, bicarbonate soda, and sugar in a large bowl. Mix in buttermilk using your hands until well combined. Knead until smooth, then shape the dough into a 14cm round loaf. Transfer the dough onto a prepared tray and bake for 25 minutes, or until the loaf sounds hollow when tapped underneath.
  • Place the bread on a wire rack to cool. Serve with butter and jam or your favorite sandwich filling.
