Indulgent raspberry pie: Sweet berries, brown sugar, cornstarch, and butter tucked between flaky crusts, baked to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
  • 2.5 cups raspberries
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 egg white
Instructions:
  • Heat your oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  • Prepare a 9-inch pie plate by lining it with pastry and brushing it with egg white. Arrange the berries in the crust. Sprinkle the mixture of sugar and cornstarch over the berries, then dot with butter. Cover with the upper crust and seal the edges.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 10 minutes, then lower the oven temperature to 400 degrees F (205 degrees C) and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
