Festive taco bites with patriotic colors - ideal 4th of July appetizer.
Ingredients:
  • nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
  • 35 round blue corn tortilla chips
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese, divided
  • 1 cup red salsa
  • 0.5 cup sour cream, divided
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), then line a baking sheet with foil and spray with nonstick spray.
  • Brown and crumble ground beef in a skillet over medium heat for about 8 minutes. Drain excess oil, then mix in taco seasoning. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then transfer beef mixture to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any excess moisture.
  • Arrange tortilla chips in a single layer on the baking sheet without overlapping. Sprinkle a bit of cheese, add a spoonful of the beef mixture, a dollop of salsa, and a touch of sour cream on each chip. Finish by sprinkling the remaining cheese on top of each chip, ensuring it stays on the chip for easy melting.
  • Simply bake until the cheese is melted in the pre-heated oven, about 5 minutes.
  • Add a small dollop of sour cream on top of each taco bite. Present them beautifully on a platter.
