Ingredients:
  • 1 cup red lentils
  • 1 cup yellow split peas
  • 1 large onion, coarsely chopped
  • 2 carrots, coarsely chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice, or to taste
Instructions:
  • In a pressure cooker, combine lentils, split peas, onion, carrots, garlic, cumin, and chicken broth. Seal the cooker and cook on medium heat until pressure is reached. Reduce heat to stabilize pressure and cook for 30 minutes. Let pressure release naturally. Open the cooker, season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice before serving.
