Tender beef brisket slow-baked with sweet tangy sauce using the lean portion for maximum flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup ginger ale
  • 1 envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 0.25 cup red wine
  • 1 (3 pound) beef brisket (first cut, or lean flat portion)
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • In a bowl, combine ketchup, ginger ale, dry onion soup mix, brown sugar, and red wine, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Place the brisket in a disposable aluminum pan, pour the sauce over it, and seal the pan with aluminum foil.
  • Cook the meat in the preheated oven until it reaches a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, around 4 hours.
