Create a memorable roast turkey masterpiece.
Ingredients:
  • 30g butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 750.00 ml fresh breadcrumbs
  • 62.50 ml fresh parsley, chopped
  • 62.50 ml fresh sage, chopped
  • 62.50 ml fresh thyme leaves
  • 3 1/2 kg turkey, trimmed, washed, dried
  • 18.40 gm oil
  • Lamb chipolatas, to serve
  • Cranberry sauce, to serve
  • Gravy, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 180C and lightly grease a large baking dish.
  • In a large frying pan over medium heat, melt butter. Cook onion until tender, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
  • Combine breadcrumbs, fragrant herbs, and eggs into the flavorful onion mixture. Season to your liking.
  • Stuff the turkey cavity with delicious stuffing and secure it with skewers. Tie the turkey legs and wings with kitchen string for a perfect fit. Place the turkey on a trivet in a baking dish and generously rub with oil. Season to your liking.
  • Bake uncovered for around 2 hours until the juices run clear when pierced. Rest for 10-15 minutes, lightly covered with foil, before carving. Enjoy with chipolatas, cranberry sauce, and gravy, if desired.
