Herb-rubbed whole chicken baked with lemon and olive oil, creating a flavorful Italian dish.
Ingredients:
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 0.5 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon mustard powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 (3 pound) whole chicken
  • 2 lemons
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) to create the perfect cooking environment for your dish.
  • Mix the seasoning, salt, mustard powder, garlic powder, and black pepper together; set aside. Thoroughly rinse the chicken and remove the giblets. Put the chicken in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle 1 1/2 teaspoons of the spice mixture inside the chicken. Rub the rest of the mixture on the outside of the chicken.
  • Combine freshly squeezed lemon juice from 2 lemons with olive oil in a small bowl or cup, then generously drizzle over the chicken.
  • Roast in the oven for 1 1/2 hours until juices run clear, basting occasionally with the remaining oil mixture.
