Indulge in a quick and irresistible strawberry sweet treat.
Ingredients:
  • 375g strawberries, hulled, halved
  • 40.00 gm caster sugar
  • 125.00 ml plain flour
  • 35g butter
  • 40.00 ml flaked almonds
  • Vanilla custard, to serve
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 220C/200C fan-forced. Grease a 16cm x 26cm shallow roasting pan, then mix strawberries with half the sugar, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  • In a medium bowl, mix flour and the rest of the sugar. Add butter and use your fingertips to rub it into the flour until the mixture looks like breadcrumbs. Stir in almonds. Sprinkle this mixture over the strawberries, gently pressing the dough with your fingers to create small lumps.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, or until the top is beautifully golden and crisp. Enjoy alongside a luscious serving of vanilla custard.
