Try this exquisite green salad with romaine, bacon, mandarin oranges, almonds, and a tangy vinaigrette for a delightful burst of flavors and textures.
Ingredients:
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 0.33333334326744 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 red onion, coarsely chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
  • 10 cups torn romaine lettuce leaves
  • 1 (10 ounce) can mandarin orange segments, drained
  • 0.25 cup toasted slivered almonds
Instructions:
  • In a large, deep skillet, cook the bacon over medium-high heat until evenly browned. Then, drain, crumble, and set aside.
  • Combine vinegar, sugar, red onion, mustard powder, and salt in a blender. Blend until smooth. Gradually add vegetable oil while still mixing until creamy. Mix in poppy seeds and set aside.
  • Combine crisp romaine lettuce, crumbled bacon, juicy Mandarin oranges, and just the right amount of dressing in a large bowl. Transfer the delicious mixture onto salad plates and generously sprinkle with toasted almonds.
