Grilled Romanian mici rolls, versatile for grilling, roasting, or pan-frying. Serve hot with Italian bread, mustard, and a cold beer. Perfect for backyard parties - a guaranteed crowd-pleaser!
Ingredients:
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 8 ounces chopped suet
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon finely ground juniper berries
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons beef broth
Instructions:
  • Combine ground beef, suet, baking soda, caraway seeds, garlic, salt, pepper, and juniper berries in a medium bowl. Use your hands to mix for about 15 minutes, gradually adding water. Prep this mixture in advance if desired.
  • Preheat the grill until it's sizzling hot. Shape the meat into 3-inch-long and 1-inch-thick rolls with moistened hands. Gently brush them with a touch of oil.
  • Grill the meat for 5 to 10 minutes, brushing with a savory blend of beef broth and remaining oil until fully cooked to perfection.
